So I've been wondering what listfiles are and what they do. So what do they do and how do you use them?

Listfiles are used by Mpq editors to read the content of the map. If a file is missing from the listfile then the editor will not recognize it and show it as an unknown.

You can use RMPQx to get a listfile from the map. It will come as a txt file. Just place that txt listfile in the folder listfile of you MPQ editor.

If you can open a map on MPQMaster and all you want is the .j file so all you need in the listfile is the

war3map.j and scripts//war3map.j
as it can be either.
I recommend that as it takes less time to open a map in the MPQ using a short listfile.
The other reason for listfile is for rebuilding MPQ.
