•G-Vamps: A map created by me that's not popular at all
•Map Link
•What I want: Please just deprotect it, I really want to be able to see the code as well. It's an old map of mine that I didn't create a backup for and can no longer open it.
•Compatibility - ROC, non-expansion. Meaning I want it only for ROC.
Thank you sooo much!!

Re: [DEPROTECT] G-Vamps
Ok, ill do this. Should be easy if you tell me what protection you used
Or else ill just dissect this and probly lose imports and such.
~EDIT~
SCRIPT OBFUSCATION DETECTED
SCRIPT OBFUSCATION REMOVED
~EDIT~
Unit deletion detected
Added blank map file
~EDIT~
W3I CORRUPTION DETECTED
REPLACED W3I
~EDIT~
Commence Script Safe Deprotection (rveach unprotect)
~EDIT~
--FAILED--
Commence Script Nonsafe Deprotection (xDEP)
--SUCCUSS--

Re: [DEPROTECT] G-Vamps
I believe it was Vexorian's map optimizer, thank you!!!
EDIT: What does all that mean? i'm just curious, is it your progress or something?
EDIT2: Wow that was fast, thank you for that.
But, you said it's unsavable? I'm a bit foggy on that. If you could fix that with "Deobfuscation", that would be great.

Re: [DEPROTECT] G-Vamps
Unsavable means one of three things
1- you need jassnewgen to save it
2- the wts file is corrupt - you're screwed
3- the .j file is corrupt - you're screwed.
Lets hope its the first. lemme test it with newgen.
MORE INFO
Found out its 2. I can fix it, I just need a couple hours of time and to delete most of your strings. Want it done?

Re: [DEPROTECT] G-Vamps
Well, If I'm able to edit the map and save my work because of it, then yes I would like it done. (I'm unfamiliar with jass, so I might just end up just using the terrain [since it seems the GUI I had in there before was replaced with one big "custom text" trigger, but I see that a lot in deprotected maps])
So if just having the terrain makes it easier for you, then you can do that.
If it's possible to get the code back into GUI, that would be even better, otherwise it's useless to me because I wanted to fix some code in there that I had.

Re: [DEPROTECT] G-Vamps
Well, its night time for me. Ill try tomorow I guess.
I dont think that itll get back in GUI. And by that I mean it never will.
If you tell me what trigger it was, what it did, and if there was text involved, I can remotley fix it. I can do many too.
Oh yeah, the protecter converts all the trigs to custom text. So consider the map to have no GUI as soon as you hit the button. No matter how good a deprotecter, it cant restore GUI that wasn't there.
Cya tomorow.

Re: [DEPROTECT] G-Vamps
This is pretty much what was in it, and what i was hoping to do:
The game is like any other vamp game with income for both the vamps and the builders.
Only difference between mine and the original one is the fact that you can choose the difficulty of the vamps and the builders.
The vampires (as they level) transform into a new model and gain new abilities.. etc.
(was planning on making different types of vampires/builders and have them branch off and stuff, IE a healing vamp or something and a builder that's more focused on offensive structures rather than defensive. Stuff like that.)
Was also planning on having something called "base control" where the builder can block off other builders from their base. (so annoying builders don't build stuff in your base) The control and its options (like block or unblock) would be accessed by an invulnerable power of circle. It would be a building, and the option "block" or "unblock" would be pressed and the code for those would be executed using the "upgrade building" event or whatever.
And another thing called "harvester control" where your harvesters teleport from your base to a random "green area" that only the harvesters and vamps can access. This would also be accessed by an invulnerable power of circle. Another thing: the circle of power for this would be where the harvesters access to get to the green area [it's basically a teleporter too]. (The green area is seperated from the map, so that you HAVE to use the teleporter to access it)
If a builder dies they can become an observer or a lesser vampire, it's there choice.
That's really about it.
I'm not telling you to do this, i guess i'm just throwing this out there.
(If you do decide on doing this, then I wouldn't mind it being a map using the expansion and its editor, credits to you, etc.)

Re: [DEPROTECT] G-Vamps
Well, I have a way.
1- You take the deprot. map and delete the (SCRIPT) trigger.
2- Add any units\trigs\terraining that you want.
3- Upload it.
4- I ''reform'' it into the origional and it should work, but it will need to be protected again probly, because you used vex.

Re: [DEPROTECT] G-Vamps
It seems it saves properly after I delete the trigger, I just copied the terrain and doodads over to another map, and it works properly.
I'll just start over, it was one big mess anyways.
Thank you. (Fullfilled)

Re: [DEPROTECT] G-Vamps
There's no real progress being made with every map you deprotect being unsave-able.
I also don't see why you post your steps in your "project". Is this to show off or something?
It takes me 3 minutes average to deprotect a map, that includes making save-able.
If you're curious on how to properly make a map save-able, PM me.
