If they did, they would have to get below 25..since i didn't get along with Sten and got his to 27 and he didn't leave. Which...giving a few coins to beggers wont really be a problem.
For gifts, i have a list of the main ones for every char if you want em. Giving plot gifts will increase approval by over 10 and each character related one (Like the ones i showed above for Morrigan) increase the approval by 5 or more.

Btw..make sure that near the end of the game, that all chars, even ones you barely use, have fully leveled and equipped..Since at the final battle you will be splitting in two groups..made my mistake and didn't level or equip some of the chars i didn't use, and it didn't end well...

About approval, it seem that there are two characters that will leave if low enough. Zevran and Oghren..but yeah those are the only two. Others will leave if you make certian choices in dialog when talked to..but as it seems that ive already said a minor spoiler above i wont give any details away.
