Damn Silk Optimizer...

So I posted a topic before (which I thought didn't post) asking how to dewidgetize a map.

I was told to use some Silk Object Optimizer thing.

I used it on my map, and it looked like it worked...

Guess what? The outputted map is STILL in .slk files and I can't open it in world editor...

Now what?

After you use SOC to rebuild the war3map.w3u, you need to put it back into the map (maybe it does this for you with the newer version?) and then delete the entire Units\ folder, with all the .slk files in it.

It doesn't rebuild the war3map.w3u, or w3a, or any of them.

And what do you mean new version? Is there a better one I could use?

Edit: I just tried the SOC in the "useful tools" section. It seemed like it was able to convert the files, but when I added them into the blank map, all the objects didn't have names, the upgrades had the default names and icons, and the abilities file crashed World Editor entirely upon loading.

As in, the version we were using for a while was 1.2 or something, whereas there's now a version 3.0. I think there was a topic about it somewhere recently.

I couldn't find it in a search, but I'm guessing the one I have is it.

Maybe I should mention it doesn't come with a listfile?

Anyways, any idea on why these problems happen?

Rename map with widgetized files to MyMap.w3x
Run the .exe in the folder

If you need to use a different listfile (the one in the map, (listfile), doesn't have the right names), then open Config.ini, set EXTERNAL_LISTFILE=listfile.txt (change listfile.txt to match the filename of your listfile, place it in SOC's folder, and save.

That's the exact one I have.

I tried making my own listfile this time, and the OUT folder still contains nothing but MyMap.w3x which STILL contains .slk files and not w3u, w3a etc.

Did you try maybe rebuilding it? I'm not sure why this is happening; try looking through the settings to see if maybe there is something you should enable/disable.

Well, that clears up everything. I forgot that SOC is used for widgetizing as well as dewidgetizing... It didn't even occur to me that there was a setting that would tell it to not dewidgetize it, I thought there was just a conflict with something.
