No, not in my opinion. Twelve and younger is child. Thirteen to fifteen is adolescence. Sixteen to nineteen is teenager, and twenty to twenty nine is young adult, etc. At least, that's how I see it.

I know that adolescence is suppose to be the more correct term of 'teenager', but it seems to me that there's a huge gap in how people think between fifteen and sixteen. I'm not sure why this is, but somehow I think it's related to people's voices growing deeper,

If anything, the gap should be between the ages of 17 and 23 because that's when your brain becomes fully developed.
