Crafting was so cool in rage, wingsticks all the way. They're like a second weapon, you can throw them while shooting or even reloading with the other hand. Saved my ass many times. The other stuff was a bit expensive at times, but I still found good use for the turrets. It is wise to keep some kinds of special ammunition for some enemies, for example I really like those explosive shotgun shells as well as the electric ones. But most of the other special ammo can be spammed. In the beginning you should cycle weapons, but later you can just sell all the ammo you don't care about in order to restock the ammo for your weapon of choice. I loved how they just kept the frustration low, like you chose to don't click me a weapon and later find somewhere else? In games like Deus Ex you would just get some ammo and thus lose all the money you invested. In other games you'd have to carry it over to some trader. Well for Rage it just gives you your money back when you pick up another weapon of the same type. I actually liked that, I also liked that they stack all the crappy items to some pile of crappy items you can sell for money. That crap stuff was so annoying in fallout. I really think they did a lot right, it was pretty much frustration free and had just the right amount of sidequests and freedom. I usually prefer games being linear over being weird/broken/imba. Like for fallout new vegas, I went into the brotherhoods bunker (supposed to be the most badass faction in the game) and they told me to hand over my weapons. I was like "No waii, I am waiiiii stronger than you, thus you should give me your stuff!" and refused to do so. They attacked me and I went on a killing spree wiping the whole faction and triggering the self destruction of their bunker. Doing so I collected uber expensive items and had way too much money for the rest of the game. That's the kind of broken gameplay I hate in RPGs, it just makes no sense at all. Why would they dare provoking me and why wouldn't they give up, but rather have themselves wiped off the planets surface? So I rather have a good linear game. In Rage I also really like the auto-revive thing you can use every 10 minutes, it isn't that logical, but it helps you keep going without getting stuck. I only had to use it twice though. The only really annoying bug I had while playing rage was me jumping while inside an elevator speeding down. I somehow fell quite a while and died hitting the stopping elevator at the ground. Weird physics bug that makes no sense, forced me to replay 10 minutes... Was annoying, but besides that it really was frustration free in my opinion.

Yea, it is a great game, but just to short imo... Its like the co-op or multi-player is that much filling, I finished it quite fast with a friend on the hardest difficulty.
I can't explain it, but I just felt like I'm treated as a beginner the entire game, holding my hand every step of the way. I was waiting for it to be OVER. But when it did, the credits rolled and I was a rather pissed of (mainly cause my friend told me it was a long game, his on the 7th town or w/e, teasing me with wishfull thoughts, and then its just all over, as he lied ) So yea, its a really good game for FPS and SP but just the open-world isn't really there and I'm not damn 10 (isnt it for 18+?) I don't need you to hold my hand every step of the way.

I like compact high quality games like Alan Wake which was only 8h. L.A. Noire didn't have too much length as well, though the quality dropped reaching the end of the game. I hate when games get worse and worse over time and that's when I usually stop playing them. There are many games I stopped playing after 2-4h. The ending of Rage was pretty boring, but ok I guess. The Stalker ending sucked imo.

I'm still playing L.A-Noire, I don't think its short. Do you have the complete edition? Or you played it on some console when it came out? I don't know about the ending as I didnt get over there yet, but hey. I really like the game so far and it is longer than any avrage game I played (I think).
Batman games (2 latest) are also awesome

That's because you didn't even see the ending. Might have been a part of it. You got a gameover and then just called it the end and quit.

Did you know they advertised the game having like seven endings? Thus I actually reached one of them and not the game over screen. I guess the game might be decent once you apply a ton of community patches, but the version I played right after it released had major flaws and bugs. It was an average game at most and didn't meet the expectations. I surely won't play it again

I played LA Noire together with a friend on the xbox and we finished it in like 3 sessions. So I guess it wasn't more than 12-14h at most. You better stop playing when you switch the protagonist, that's when the ending starts and that's when the game starts to suck imo. We both didn't like the ending. Though quite a while before that the game started to become more and more repetitive and sometimes even omitted decisions we made. We also encountered weird scripting bugs, like there was a video sequence after going through one door and after that the door was locked, thus preventing us from interrogating the guy inside. That really sucked since the game usually forces you to search for as much evidence as possible before you start the interrogation and at that point it completely messed it up for us.

At one point you even had to attack and wipe out a complete military base cause you couldn't wait to get a permit to enter which was totally out of character for a police officer and ex-military in my opinion. Really really really bad ending.

Well it took some time, but its finally working proporly
I'm sorry for the shitty video, its 3 minutes long because fraps decided to be a dick stop recording, I wasn't aware of that at the time being, lesson for next time, use window mode or any other way to CHECK if its recording, damn it.

I really wanted to thank Bart for the video he uploaded, along with all the mods and explanations, who helped me play this game.
I got some SMG's at the moment (in-game ) but no kevlar or w/e... so.. Yea...
The sound is gone because I had no idea MeGui takes the sound off, whats point in that? =\

It makes sense if you think about it. Sprint takes one of your three fingers which are on WASD, (probably index finger), to X, which you only have to press once - it'll keep working as long as you keep moving, so you can allow that finger that pressed it to go back to sitting on its proper direction button.

Walk, on the other hand, you have to hold down. So, because you have to hold it down, it should be a button that doesn't require usage of the WASD fingers, which it is: shift. If you switch their places, it makes sense why it's so. Shift is easily accessible with your pinky, X is not. But you have to hold down shift if you want to walk, whereas X you just press once and then you can readjust back to normal.

...on the other hand, if you made shift sprint, CTRL walk and C crouch-toggle, then that would also work. Toggle, because if it wasn't toggle, you'd be unable to go to low crouch, (CTRL + Shift).

Glad to hear you got everything working. Is the game at least tolerable now?

Yea, its pretty cool, yet has its flaws.
1) I get lost with all the quests (I got like 15 now..)
I though Ill just get all the missions + side missions, finish all at once, and bring back all together.
But one quest lead me for some camp where I got like 10 more, etc... so I am getting confused with that. But hey, rather have alot of side quests than none the more the better, I don't have to do them, my choice only.
2) I had alot of trouble getting to the SMG, maybe I was skipping ahead? I was just where your video ended, (yet did 1 extra mission about a guy lying down and asking for a medkit), went to some random mission, and the way was blocked by like 8 armed guys with SMG's and grenades. Took me alot of tries to get those bastards, but after that I took the AK (some sort?) they had and just owned. I play it bit by bit, doing several missions than I get of it (mainly cause the game randomly crash and I just get pissed off and say f*** it).
3) There was some part I think I jumped in my seat. I noticed some box I can break with a knife (like in your vid), the box was on my right. So I turn, break it, get the money, just happen to like to my right (where I cam from...) and there was some alien freak or someshit right in my face. The best thing, is that it had no sound to indicate nor I was forced to look. Its like turning back and noticing there is some one you don't know in your house (but.. In a game ) so I liked that part and smiled like an idiot.
4) I don't really use the shop for anything but to sell items. And I don't know what most of my items do.. I got some dog-tails, some glowing rocks, alot of types of ammo that I guess I dont use.. I walk with like 40k~50K on my back out of 60. So each stalker I see, I just sell him all the guns I happened to grab. And there isn't really anything to don't click me... I don't need ammo or guns as I get those from the bandits or w/e I kill. And it seems I got a stalker suit at some point without noticing, and from all the shops I have seen, its the best armor... So I don't know what to do with all the money I collect besides <3 it as I am a jew after all
5) I noticed I can join sides, I think its the Duty and the otherSomethingIdontRemember... So I won't be a loner (forever alone!!!) Any hints about those?
6) I got a sleeping bag or something like that, do I need to sleep in it at some point? Does it have any actual purpose?
