Its weird. I just tested it out and outright i was unable to load my char. After selecting one of the heros then loading the char it was successful but the starting hero did not get removed, so i had two heros and could load another at any time.

Yeah you can -load as many times as you want.
i don't know why this happens either.
The map seems like a developing one since it overwrites save, you cannot have multiple characters.

shouldn't be able to load more than 1 characters.
SP save/load should be enabled now.
