hmm, im doing deprotections very rarely...
most cases im programming in jass!
deprotection is done by replacing all corrupted
files with ones from my template package
and fixing eventually other corruptions.
this work for example with dota, after replacing
the corrupted files (and moving the war3map.j
file from the "scripts" folder to the main folder)
you can edit dota with world edit ;)

can you tell me how to step by step?

do you just open the map with the mpq program then import the files and replace them?

yeah, every single one world edit tells me :)
but let me tell you, deprotection isnt that interesting
since nearly every map is protected by vexorian
these days...
there isnt any possibility to recover the gui triggers
you could do in your lifetime when these got deleted,
thatswhy its better to learn jass and edit the map directly
with this mighty script language! (it holds even more might
than world edit ;) )
in my opinion deprotection is only good for editing the ladscape.

i think vexorian isnt that old, but even if its not protected with vexorian,
the author could have deleted the file by himself!

Heya, have a question.

Been about a year since I last deprotected a map, and have run into a problem I can't remember how to fix.

I edit the .j file, and reimport it. However, when I click on the map in the selection screen, war3 crashes and gives a File.cpp error.

Would deleteing the w3i file fix this?

Thanks.
