Maybe, you just confused about the changed map and unchanged map.

Why don't you try to make a new folder with a hacked map in it.

Try to test it on Bnet and not on SP.
Due the patch, it only works for Singleplayer, but crashes on Bnet if u host it.
Maybe that's the problem.
