It's not smart, but a lot of people don't know much about computers. They just use the browser that comes with their operating system, which came with their computer. Yes, it's a better idea to not use IE, but they don't realise there's a better option, or they don't want to have to deal with all the possible problems ("Why fix it if it ain't broke?). Just sayin'. The clueless IE users can be pwnt by popups without even clicking on them.

and i also use the ad block plus and some other security stuff.


ex. use comodo firewall (best ratings although it has tons of pop ups) and a suite of security stuff

or just get linux or use a boot cd with it since there is almost no viruses for it
