Uhh... So whole the guide relies on MPQ Recover? It doesn't work for me

Why doesn't it? Like, what error does it give? And o.O are you Cagik? Your avatar is the same.
You might want to use RMPQx instead too, like the previous posts stated.

i stuck at part B where i do not know how to force openin it in read-only mode

Edit: At part A somewhere that involved the x-dep, when i run x-dep it crashes

If you get that error, just open the map with MPQMaster or Ladik's MPQ Editor and replace the file named war3map.w3i with a blank one. Then you'll be able to run XDep and get a deprotected map. The basic information like the map name will be missing from the map, but it'll be deprotected!

How do I get it to show a different file version at the loading screen?

I've deprotected a map that plays fine, but if I try to open world editor with it and change the file version, when you save it gives like 17000 script errors so I assume they used some 3rd party editor.
