Multi-Realm Hosting.

How do you do it? I know bots can, but is there anyway a manual host can do it? I mean to say, can someone multi-realm host without a bot? If so, how? And if not, why can't manual hosts do it?(This one is off my curiousity for why bots can do this and manuals can't)
