Ipod Help Needed

Few nights ago, I was in my room listening to music (also half a sleep) on my ipod. Since I was holding it, I must've pressed something by random/accident, then after I pressed it this white apple sign popped up. After that, the music playing stopped. I went to choose a song to play. I pressed on the song but it didn't play. It was paused to I pressed play. No sound what so ever. It just repaused it self. So the question is, does anyone know how to fix this problem?

Thank you in advance! :D
Much appreciated.

Have you tried plugging it back into the computer? Most of the time, that'll override whatever you just did and reset it to the main menu after the sync.

If that doesn't work, let it run out of batteries first.

Okay these are the 2 things I recommend:

1. Press the middle and menu button or the middle and play/pause button (depending on the model it is different) for about 40 seconds until you see something happening. This will reboot the system completely and hopefully fix it.

2. Plug it into your computer and in iTunes go and click on your iPod on the sidebar. Then on your iPod's info screen (on iTunes) select "Restore" this will wipe your iPod and put in the newest firmware with factory settings. If that doesn't work then it is a hardware problem and has to be returned to Apple to fix it.

Thanks Matchai and UndeadxAssassin. Looks like your first method worked Matchai. :D

Hint: When iPods are involved, don't let them run out of batteries. If they're having problems and you let them die, they have a tendency to be bricked. The computer won't recognise them, and you can't sync/charge them.

Actually if there bricked, the comp doesnt recognize them (your right) but they do charge, i have one :P

and i got it out of a bricked using a combination of programs (ziphone, redsn0w, and alot of other ones :P )

redsn0w ≠ unbrick

redsn0w = jailbreak/unlock

Edit: Wait... so is ZiPhone...

How does that work if redsn0w and ZiPhone are for jailbreaking and unlocking?
Are you confusing unlocking with unbricking?

iBrickr = unbricking

Here's a hint: Don't use ZiPhone. WinPwn, QuickPwn, redsn0w are great. But don't use ZiPhone.

ZiPhone was for the old version. I believe for 2.0.1-2.0.2

ZiPhone was what I used back when 1.1.4 first came out, and it was the only Windows program at the time that could jailbreak that release. However, the developer was an idiot, and he stole the majority of his code from the Dev Team without giving credit. He also asked for donations for "coding" the whole thing. His program was easy, yes, but it often screwed things up, and you'd have to re-jailbreak it. Plus, something got messed up when you jailbroke using his method, so you had to install a MAC address fix. When you did, it set your MAC address to a specific address. It worked, but as you can imagine, when two phones with this fix got onto the same WiFi network, things went bad.
I used it, back then, and it took a while to jailbreak it. I had heard horror stories, but I used it anyway. Nothing got broken, but my iPod was slow as hell. When I restored it and removed the jailbreak, preparatory to upgrading and jailbreaking with a different program, it became so much faster, it wasn't funny.
