First, there was the Torment thing. After I beat Torment, I switched back to regular acceleration, and my computer started randomly turning itself off and not booting up for like an hour. Messed with the power cable, thinking it might be that, and it ended up frying my power supply, as well as my video card. I get a better and new power supply, and then use a subtitute video card for a day, and then we take the video card out. We plug the power cable back into the new power supply, and you can hear crackling noises of electricity. Now I need another power supply, and then I tried putting my hardrive into another computer, and somehow I had a hardrive/operating system failure, and am without a computer.

Awesome.

Rofllmao. GG'd by yourself.
You should learn how to properly install hardware before doing it.

Lesson? Don't fix it if there's nothing to fix, and if there is something to fix, get Dekar's full advice first ;)

Or look at the specs for the things so you don't get the wrong power supply unit.

From the way you described it, perhaps there's a short in the cable or something. If messing with the cable caused two separate power supply units plugged into it to burn out... Something's wrong.

The power supply unit was fine, until we plugged the (shorted) cable in. The first time we used it, it was O.K. Something went wrong while plugging it in the second time...and it did that without even turning on the power button.

Dekar's advice is kind of hard to reach considering I don't have a computer, no?

Anyways, video card should finally be around here this week.

Or...they'll wait a week and then say my order was cancelled for no reason. Cool.

O.K., so we plugged the power supply simply into the wall without being connected to anything, and now there's no sparking sounds.

So now we're just getting a new video card, ram, motherboard, processor, and power supply instead of just a video card and power supply.
