for torrent files the best is Vuze
for any movie files (including AVI) the best is VNC

Most players can run .avi. iTunes, Songbird, Avarok, WMP, VLC, etc. .avi is a pretty common format, and so most of them can run it.

Title: Chinoman10 is here:)
I use Ares Galaxy to get musics from the Internet... So I can also use it for torrents, and it can also read avi videos... ;)

This makes me think you are talking about a codec that you can add to your media players so you can play that type of media. If you are talking about a codec perhaps a codec collection like FFDSHOW would be something you would be interested in.
