Error breaking protection of a map (MPQ Editor Error)
Error :
"Cannot open "xxx" An attempt was made to load a program with an incorrect format."
Getting this when I attempt to load a map in MPQ editor. I can force the MPQ as 1.0 (or whatever that function is) and it works flawlessly but it forces read-only so i cant edit it. Does anyone know a bypass for either of these two things? If you need the map, I can provide it.

Does this happen for every map you try or only that map?

why the hell are you opening a .xxx file...
If you have any questions drop in by chat sometime, chances are there'll be someone who can help you that's afking there, so the next best thing is to click the link on UndeadxAssassin's Sig and ask your question there.

I belive the XXX=Map name.. It isn't relevent if that is the case.
If you can't open the map, rebuilt the MPQ, there is a guide I made for it in here.. Advanced Cheating or something IIRC.

.xxx is the filename extention that happens when you use a blank listfile.
Use this listfile : http://forum.wc3edit.net/useful-tools-f ... ml#p149728

Sorry, the above guy was right, the "xxx" was a replacement for the path to the map.
when i hit 'Open map' thats the error it gives me without force 1.0 and read only. i want to be able to edit it though

Open it in force 1.0, extract all the files, and then add them into a new MPQ archive you created. Then using a hex exitor (like xvi32) copy the first 512 bytes from the old map onto the new map.
