Hi! Im new on this site so I wasn't 100% sure on where to put this, hope my guess was right :D. So me and a guy from russia have worked on a map for a very long time, it is basically a custom hero arena. Now the problem is that when we started testing the map we discovered that he got disconnected most of the times, we later found out that it was because he had played other games, you almost certainly get disconnected if you have played dota before. The disconnections happens after the games starts (in-game after loadscreen) and the 'player leaves' trigger i have reports that the player leaves directly when map starts, for the disconnecting player himself he disconnects and gets the normal message after 3-5 seconds. For making the map we first used WEU but then switched to newgen and EGUI. The map has much imported data and some models have been optimized using some optimizer i found (tell me if you want the name, because then i have to check it up). We have done some testing where we removed all dodads/units/regions/cameras/imports and found out that a map without any units wont cause any disconnections. However when we removed units on half the sides and tested we still got disconnections. I later myself did some testing where I first removed all the units on the map and then placed a section of the map out one after one. I got one map which worked and one map (where i had approxomatly (how do you spell that anyway?? :P) added an extra 20-30 units) which werent. So i thought 'hey must be some of those units i added causing the disconnections' but nope when i removed those units from the 'real' map i still had problems with disconnections.

So do you guys have any clue on how i could solve this?? I have tried for maby two or three months now without succes, I have asked on other sites which couldnt help me. I saw someone said that you had solve someone their problem so i hope you can solve mine as well. Thanks on forehand.

Err..im not sure that i could help ya out, but for anyone else, it may be good to upload the map here so that they could take a look. Advice is good and all, but to be a bit more sure actually looking at the map would help.

PM it to a Super-Mod or Admin that is willing to help.
Posting it in a thread that everyone can look at would be a very, very bad idea.

It sounds like you might just have a lot of leaky triggers. That could be causing the disconnection. Playing previous maps would help, because leaky triggers in those maps would just be added onto by yours, and it would cause the players to disconnect quicker. I think. Someone correct me if I'm wrong!

So, Senethior, you're saying DotA is leaky...?

Right.

Dota is not leaky, as far as version 6.59d its ok but 6.60 has a few issues.

No, I'm not saying DotA is leaky. He mentioned that they get disconnected if they played other maps, just DotA especially. I can't think of any reason why DotA would have that affect besides leaky triggers, unless it's coincidental. After you're done playing a map, it can no longer do anything. When your DotA game is over, it's over. It can't be affecting his map. Leaky triggers are the only things that can stay around after a game and still affect the next one.

Of course, it could just be coincidental that it always happens after playing DotA...

Title: LSD.
Meh he could try to troubleshoot the problem.

Play the map without playing any other map, see if it crashes.
Play other maps then play the map see if it crashes.

Restart wc3 and try this multiple times?
