Hey i was going to try this if not for a single difficulty i encountered, i Cant locate the map folder or the maps (Cpt. Obvious reporting for duty) And by the looks for several other forum's i Visited via google i'm not alone

The maps are downloaded directly off Blizzard's server, and are cached and hidden.

It's practicly impossible to retrieve them.

Map makers however, sometimes release their maps public. If so, then you can hack that map, but you still will need to re-release it and make your version popular. It will show you as creator too. SC2 maps are pretty much impossible to practicly hack .

Yeah, I didn't expect them to do this. I designed these cheats during the beta; we had no concept of how the custom maps would work, and I didn't realize that the system was going to make cheating practically, if not totally, impossible. There may be a way around it, but I still haven't gotten around to buying SCII to try and find a way. I'm still trying not to let Minecraft rule my life.

Only thing I can think of is if someone made a way to get maps.. Like the maps must be being read on the game, so if someone (Dekar o_o) made a program like his listfile logger but instead it logged the map and created it after it was done playing, then cheating would be possible.

But seince that's probably not possible, looks like we'll only be able to cheat maps that are released.

Afraid it is! Unless map makers release their maps in which case we can hack.

If we find a way to spoof the name of the uploader and circulate a faked newer version with cheats, that would work. I'm sure there is a way to spoof names.

I don't think so. There's player number also. And then there would be two maps on the list, and then he could enable it to show his full name, then we're done.

That still has the problem of getting the map.

I said the map would be faked, that way people would download it believing it's a newer version. The maps are in one of the MPQ files I believe, since you are able to download and save maps instead of downloading it every time you play a game.

If I enter a room, download a map. everything is fine. Unplug the internet > go to single player. Will I be able to play the map? If so, its stored some where in the PC. And if it is. Its hack-able. Can anyone with the game try it out please?
