Can't play lan with my brother

None of these solutions seem to work. I think it has something to do with the maps that I play since they are over 8mb, however me and my brother used a patch to bypass it (sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't). We tried testing on a map that was under 8mb and it worked perfectly! I think all I need to do is to switch to a different patch. Anyways thanks for all your help guys!
