Zyxel's Hero Siege v0.8

Zyxel's Hero Siege v0.8

Post by remdale »

Hi. Anybody familiar with Zyxel's Hero Siege v0.8?
The map is great, it has 70 waves of monsters and 14 boss waves. But the problem is that the higher the wave number, the more terribly it lags. The map is very small, but being at the 64th wave now I'm watching a slideshow. The fact that the save file becomes bigger and bigger every time proves there's some sort of garbage overload in the memory influencing the game engine.
I started with 1-2 MB for the save file in the beginning and then ended up with 55 MB at the 64th wave! It doesn't get worse with the beginning of each wave, it does randomly whever I notice a micro lag which indicates the thing is getting slow already.
How do you think what is happening? Is there anybody who could fix it? I barely understand how the map editor works, especially when it comes to user scripts :(
I've tried v1.26 and v1.29 engines.
You could try it out yourself or I can share the save files in the next post if needed

Thanks in advance

Hello, it happens because the map doesn't have any groups/locations and items destroyed after they are created.

Hi P3in. Thanks for your response.
But what is happening when the map begins to lag? Why does the save file get bigger, I mean what does occupy the memory there?
Does the map have to be completely rebuilt?

At what wave do you have lag?
I fixed mostly points that weren't removed and items.

There seems to be nothing left to fix, about the lag. There are still improvements that can be done to triggers, but it doesn't affect the game in the matter of lag.

I fixed some of those units not running.

Thanks. What version of Warcraft 3 are you using? I will try to save progress there so that you could open my save file

Here's the save file at 36th wave https://www.mediafire.com/file/9mrzu8o6 ... 7.w3z/file
Please take a look at how it's lagging. Even if you kill all my monsters it will still be lagging. Do you think it can be fixed?
