I'll put it this way...if he doesn't know what ftp stands for then I'm not going to actually go off explaining it to him so I gave him something to relate to, if you disagree then everyone to there own opinion but honestly....you host a file and you transfer it. GG

nope, its basically the same system like http, just the protokoll
is different...
it has some differences, the main difference is the file rights management.
but for a normal user it looks like the same!

ftp link ftp://web60f3:[email protected]/n00b%20file.txt
http link http://wc3edit.net/stupid%20n00b%20folder/n00b%20file.txt

both are delivering the same file :)
so as you can see it isnt anything like torrent!
you're using it very often for file downloads without
getting any notice :)
