Post subject:  PlayStation 3, should I?

Well I love the PlayStation, I have both 1 and 2, now I didn't get 3 cause I kept telling myself, it isn't jailbroken yet (every game in Israel is ~400NIS, and to compare, 1$USD = ~3.2NIS, so thats over 100$).
Now I have heard that PS3 was jailbroekn a long time ago, but I kinda lost interest in it, mainly due to school, but now I am once more into it.
Now I found some places where it can be bought for ~200$ (hey look, the invalid of 2 games :D) the question is, is the JailBreak okay? I heard it wasn't so good and YouTube showed alot of different stuff (alot of xbox vs PS) so I ask the people in here. If you have any expirience with PS3 JailBreak, or any reliable information to provide regarding it. I think that last time I heard about the jailbreak it was with a USB device, unlike the PS2 where you had to install an inside chip and risked damaging your PS. Is it true? Is it different this days?

I know the PS4 is probably out next year, but meh, I guess it will take a long time before another JailBreak :)

PS has different games, some stuff just play better on console.
FPS, RTS, MMORPGS, They play better on a PC.
Fighting, Adventure, Racing, They player better on a console.
(my opinion ofcourse)
Avrage invalid of a PS3 - 200-300$
Avrage invalid of a good PC - 1000-2000$ do the math?
The thing I liked best when I had a PS2, is that when I got a game, I didn't have to look at minimum requiremants etc.. You got it for a PS2, you got a PS2, its gonna work. (unless your PS2 is broken). You don't have to alter settings or anything..

And the build is completly different... If you want a PC (not a laptop) You need a table, a keyboatd, a mouse, a screen and preferable some speakers.
On a PS you usually got a TV with all that ready, a TV with no PS is still a good TV, a monitor, keyboatd etc... without a PC, aren't that useable.. Not to mention it takes alot of less space.
If you have a TV, then your PS can either be in a drawer (is that a word?) besides the TV or can just sit near it, I doubt alot of people would mind that there.
Taking it out, is just grabbing the controller and choose, and hey, Where is it better to sit. On the chair or on the couch? :D

Anyhow I'm getting way too much into this. I just said why I like consoles, and I don't like my brothers PC. The downside of a PS, is that it needs to be jailbroken (or cracked, or what ever is the correct term) in-order to play freely. Where on a PC, you just download a cracked game. No biggy :)

btw - God of War is not on PC :( so PS won.

Here where I am, a lot of my friends were very biased with the PS3. Now, I've always been a fan of the PS legacy. I've played every good game (and a fair share of bad ones) out there for both consoles. I've even committed the "atrocious" Nintendo-fan sin of saying that the PS is better than Nintendo on every level (even Zelda and Mario don't compare to Persona et al for me). But when my friends went all-out for the PS3 just because it got jailbroken early here, I cautioned them that it's going to be hard. I've read about the hardware and I was a bit concerned about how it would handle unoriginal games.

Of course, fanatic mentality won over reason (and, oh, Valkyria Chronicles frenzy, I suppose) and they all bought PS3's. They ended up buying original games anyway because most of them found that jailbroken ones don't function as well as they expected (ie. loading the last chapter of MGS4 took well over an hour for one of my friends, etc.) or a lot of features were very laggy (internet connection, mostly). They ended up trading them for newer and original unbroken ones and submitted to buying original games. I'm still happy with my Disgaea 2, heh. Still waiting for the PS4 to come out and see if it's going to be better than the (slightly-mediocre-for-me) PS3.
