Unit Editing: How do I do it? (Not a tutorial)

Obviously unit editing has much more capabilities but I can't even start learning, it's just too much to take in for me, does anyone have any help? I want to make an RPG in SC2, so I need to be able to make custom units/heroes. So in the end, how the hell do I work the unit editor?
