For now it just redirects to this Starcraft 2 section.

That's it. It's the same community, it makes no sense to split everything into two completely separate forums.

I believe this subforum will be getting its own skin to suit it being dedicated to Starcraft II, so look forward to that!

And no, the maps are just cached and hidden.

Where can I find the maps in SC2? I can't find any custom ones like the downloads folder.

I haven't gotten SC2 itself yet, but there's just a folder in the install directory next to Starcraft II.exe named Maps. Maybe it's moved things around since the beta; once I get a copy, I'll look for it if we still haven't found them, but that won't be for a bit. Look around in the install directory, and maybe in My Documents or the Application Settings folders. Maybe it's a hidden folder somehow, or it's putting them all into one compressed file. Take a look!
