I've been trying to reduce the map size of a map by deleting a few mp3 files in hex however im absolute ass at calculating the map hash size and map block size so i always end up with being able to open the map but it being blank inside, can anyone here help me out would be much appreciated, reason why i need the map to be smaller is because of bots not being able to handle maps bigger than 128 mb.

can someone explain what im doing wrong?

(the file i gave has a different result from below since i just recalculated using fukkis program.)

map size: 132965949 bytes which becomes 7ECE63D in hex then use fukkis program to figure out the hash pos and block pos Image

which turns it into this

Image

but even after that it still turns out blank and going to check the size in MPQ ends up with the same size instead of a different size that allows me to recalculate again..

Im using the latest version of MPQ editor.

however i've also just tried using the old version and still no difference.

Actually this map doesn't have any hex protection.
I just opened it in latest MPQ Editor version, with a good listfile.
Deleted some .mp3 files then opened map in MPQ Master > Compact/Flush.

yep maps from china and they use that weird wc3 launcher called battle platform / dzclient so usually map creators there dont use any sort of hex protection they only use something called dzapi which is easily removable.

I for some reason did not know mpqmaster and mpqeditor could compact like that lol thanks ^^

just for future reference though if anyone knows where i fucked up hex wise please tell me i should probably also say that i delete the mp3 files by finding the offset in tables on mpqeditor then selecting block from the start of the offset to the next files offset and then highlight one back so the next file isnt affected, maybe thats where im fucking up? not sure.
