deprotecting, editing and making the map work

so you deprotect a map
open it with the world editor
you edit an unit
you click to test the map but a bunch of erros and problems related to trigger functions pop up
the map now cant be played

so what can be done about this?

Wrong way to deprotect a map will ruin a map for sure, don't deprotect unless you really need to edit a map, in this case, i believe it's not required since you only edit a few things.
