I think changing function config in a way may harm your map but minor changes to values and other options dont harm your map.

MPQ Archive is sth different and i think you shouldn't mess with MPQ, you might cause irrepairable errors

Reimporting empty war3map.j to your map will make it load properly on the game but on startup you'll just see a foged screen , Someone correct this if im wrong i cant remember

Using an empty war3map.j means that the map will have no triggers, and won't do anything. you won't have a fogged map, you'll have everything that was preplaced and thats it.
