I'll probably end up reading it, because I'm, (now), a fan of the HHGTTG, as someone from the RWP suggested it to me, and I got it. It's needless to say that I loved it, as everyone who has ever read it has. 8)

*too long; didn't read

*also, note, that's like the only time I've ever said it, because I usually read really long stuff that other people can't be bothered to, -.-

Don't read the fifth book, it sucks! -.-

The 5th book was very different from the others. There were a lot of discrepancies, too, like Ford's vegetarianism (when he had taken up being cruel to animals as a hobby in the previous books, and was single-handedly responsible for the giraffe!).
Also, it's not as funny of a book, because it was really trying to tie up all of the loose ends and end the trilogy. Meh. You should read it anyway, but it's definitely not as good as the previous HHGTTG books.

We are so off-topic, it is reaching epic proportions. Here's this: Most Christians are not the type of person that the Bible wants them to be. That's good. The Bible encourages a lot of things that are now regarded as bad, or illegal. It encourages some good things, too, but the good morals it preaches are the same good morals that nearly every parent tries to teach to their children, with or without the Bible.
Oh, and it's just stupid. The two books about Jesus were written several hundred years apart (and several hundred after they claim he died), and disagreed with each other on several important parts!

That's what happens when you have multiple people writing it, I guess?

Should've had some immortal write the whole thing, would've solved a lot of problems...-.-

If a bunch of people wrote the Bible and their accounts conflict with each other, then why the hell does everyone believe in it? It doesn't seem very trustworthy.

faith doesn't have to be believing in the truth? People on middle age basically believed that the earth is flat?
So I suggest you accept the fact that human mind is full of flawed messages.
Whenever you asked why the hell people believing in some untrustworthy thingies, it means you haven't grown up yet.
99% of the people believe on what they're told when they were still a child. No one cares about the truth anyway?
So yes, bible is full of conflict, and yes, a lot of people is believing it. And yes, people don't care about the truth. That's the facts.

 sorry. The truth doesn't sound beautiful, do it?
