i used to do Shift Delete, my trash bin always empty,i don't know about system restore.
have downloaded 3 recovery tools not good so far,or ill just accept the lost of it

Navigate to your user folder:

C:\Users\%user name%

Right click your "Desktop" folder
Click "Restore Previous Versions"
If available, choose one of the dates before deletion

Set it to scan the desktop. Recover the files it finds. It will take many hours so set it going overnight.

Not properly working found 0 files(Deepscan),Some tool i find files i look,
but its damage/corrupted others are uknown tsk.

If all fails. Use ze time machine.
