Eating hot foods will also cause bloody noses o_o...

Maybe...spicy foods draw out the moisture in your body...just drink more water if you eat it, then? :P

Actually, I'm not really sure what it's called in English, actually. I said hot because that's the litteral translation from Vietnamese. My mom always said don't eat hot foods (in Viet, of course) because it'll give you a bloody nose. I never really figured out why or what 'hot' foods were, but I know mangos, chips, strawberries, peppers, and soda are considered 'hot'. So..eat them in moderation.

My theory is that it increases your blood pressure, and since the capillaries in your nose are small as well as the layer of skin that protects it, they tend to burst easier causing bloody noses.

I'm not sure what you just said.

Did you say, 'Strawberries, Mango's, and Soda' are hot? Peppers are hot in the spicy sense, but strawberries, mango's, and soda are not hot in the spicy sense or even the temperature sense.

Yeah, I don't think hot is quite the right word, lol

It's very complicated translating Viet to English, since the Viet has many words that don't translate into English while others can mean like 60 different things. I just took the most litteral one :S.

The point is, the foods increase your blood pressure and cause ruptures in the capillaries in your nose (when eaten consecutively).

I was going to say sodium content (table salt is sodium chloride) but I highly doubt it's present in strawberries...

But yeah, I understand what you mean. They raise your blood pressure. I don't think there's a real word for it in English, though, which is why translation is tricky.
