I want to be able to rename winamp, so that in the taskbar it reads as "Windows Media Player". or "WMP" would probably be easier. I have opened up the exe and found different spots where it says winamp, but is there an easy way to mass "replace"? Looking through the whole file may take a while

Also, would I have to edit a DLL or such from the winamp folder?

Why do you want to do that?

I think "Work computer" explains it pretty well.

I want it to look like WMP so our sysadmin dont lockdown the system so we cant do anything,. He already warned me he would do so. I found a skin for winamp that looks pretty good, so at a glance he would just think its normal WMP.

Try making a folder in the C:\ root directory name it WMP (or whatever) copy
all the files from Windows media player and paste it in that folder and rename Winamp to WMP.
That should work.

That's no taskbar XD
Uhm I've just had a look at it, why don't you just use winamps option to hide it from the bar?

Well then never mind... I thought that's what he ment since it makes more sense... whatever... >.>

How about this funny idea instead....

Make a fake taskbar... haha?
You just hit print screen with whatever you want on the taskbar
to be shown then you paste in mspaint or something like that then
save and make it your background and just hide the taskbar... haha...?

Though this idea might not be all that great it's still funny... W00T?

We got a new computer a few months ago, but before he busted us with winamp and a couple of card games, he had a shit fit and told us he doesnt want anything installed. He actully locked the control panel so we cant so much as even change the desktop background (Although I already unlocked it :D ). We actually took a picture that was made at our xmas party, and uplodaed to the server by the boss. we viewed it and said "make desktop background" and he was also pissed because we "installed" something. He's an idiot. The person who locked down the computer had to go on the internet to read how to do it. Shouldn a sysadmin know this sort of thin already?

Why winamp. I have loaded shitloads of music mixes on our computer an when the computer is put in hibernate mode, then the music replays from the last position, wmp doesnt do that.
