Activision and Blizzard didn't merge. Activision and Vivendi Games have merged. That's an important difference, because Blizzard is just one part of Vivendi Games. Sierra is another, and that's a pretty big company too.

Don't like some of their polices, as well their games.

Guitar Hero
Lego Games

I played call of duty 1 and 2 and I really liked them. Great campaign and much better atmosphere than for example battlefield.
I never played guitar hero though I think it's fun as well. Man you play audiosurf, why do you think it's a bad game? O.o
And most blizzard games are great also. So yeah, they should be able to compete with EA Games. I still hate them for leaving
C&C Generals without any further patches -.-

AudioSurf is probably one of their only good games.

Their old C&C games were really good, too. But C&C3 sucks, -.-
