Wracking my brains out on this one...

Post by flawblure »

I've read over many many tutorials, tried all sorts of methods but I can't for the life of me get the custom data for TGS 4.5. The error I get when opening it is the "WERandomGroup" but I got that error before i even tried to unprotect it so I'm confused exactly as to why that happened. Regardless, using xdep I was able to get it working, but no custom data, and then using unprotect combined with messing around with mpq's i was able to get it to load up to the point but then say no unit data existed... help please : (.

What kind of custom data are you looking for exactly?

Preferably all of it, unit data would be awesome though.

I didn't see much custom data in the map, probably as much as you did, I found like 7 files, in the WE that were custom. I can send you what I have if you want, but if you did it like me, you probably have the same exact stuff I have.

What I did was use MPQ Recover and formed my own listfile then imported the map with the the following listfiles:
Xdep
TGS
War3

I didn't see very many imports at all, and I assume thats the custom data that you want.

I xdeped the map and opened it up and saw 7 ability files

I will tried WEU and saw a bit more, but they were all abilities as well.

You have to use SilkObjectConsole to recover the data.
You know why the Yankees always win, Frank?
'Cause they have Mickey Mantle?
No, it's 'cause the other teams can't stop staring at those damn pinstripes.

Mabye I'm using the wrong terminology... sorry. What I mean is that I'd like to see the custom heros/custom units. I saw alot of imported data but it was all .slk so I had no idea exactly what that meant....

What do you mean by use SilkObjectConsole? Would that retrieve the unit data ect from the .slk files in the imports? (I guess a more important question is what exactly is SilkObjectConsole?)

Here is the map with object data: http://files.wc3edit.net/index.php?acti ... 04.58P.w3x. If you want more info on that program just post back.

Took a look at the map, thanks alot. How exactly did you get the .slk info? I'd love all the info on the program that you could give me. Thanks for all the help.
