How do i change the music played in the background of DotA 6.49b?

Simple, winamp, your song, turn wc3 music volume off.
Yes, I know what you mean, but this way is much simpler, +, no one else hears it, nor do you have to edit the map to do it. Plus, the music you probably want in it is probably way too big, as happens alot.

What if i want others to hear it lol? What would i have to edit to change it? I suppose its something in the .j file

Yea, you just need to add the song to the map, then edit the j script so that it would play
when you said something certain... but as mentioned a normal song would make the map
so big you wouldn't be able to host it... >.>

Or...
You could simply find out the song's file name in DotA, and simply overwrite that song so you wouldn't have to touch the .j file.
