Does anyone have a link to the up to date unprotect program? If so can you please post it here?

I did. Its literally called "UnProtect". Its mentioned under the "faster method" heading of pre-placed units: "...So you came up with a map with like a billion preplaced units, but you don't want to do it by hand. So what do we do? The faster method of course. Keep in mind though, you need a few tools and a bit of know-how. First we will need this program called UnProtect. We can find this here: http://rveach.romhack.org/WC3/Unprotect ... ect104.rar ..." This is what it said in the guide but the link is broken.

The horrible truth is, the program was named as unoriginal as it is, it is literally called UnProtect. Though, I haven't seen it myself, but have heard about it, but that was 6+ years ago.

Not sure what this person wants to achieve with an outdated way of "recovery", since, even getting map in WE still means inability to edit code normally, it will have to either be fully dumped and manually spread or well, simply non-existent due to WE's map build.

That guide is simply outdated and won't yield any useful results to you... but still, if I manage to find it, will send it to you.

Also x-dep has such features as well, so you might want to check it out.

I found it. As said by Unryze, probably this program won't work. I already used it two years ago and got zero results. Anyway...
