Freakin thing comes up with 900+ compile errors.

I can open up a map, not code anything, then try to save and it still does the same thing.

WTF??

I just get into wanting to make my map again, and I cant do shit!!

Which map is it? I think there's a JASSHelper or Grimoir setting that you can use to make it ignore specific compile errors which don't effect runtime, like hex stuff in the JASS.

It's my SM. These are all my own map versions that I made years ago. I don't think I had to play with any settings in the past to get it working.

Try opening the script in JASScraft and running a syntax check. If it gives you a bunch of garbage like "The symbol $A is not declared" then it's a hex problem. I'm guessing what you're getting is an issue with world editor not understanding that hex values are perfectly legit too. If I remember correctly, a member named something like yellowafterlife made a program to change hex to normal.

I'm going to re-install properly and NOT do any updates.

That's a nice offer George, but I am still having problems with everything even though I am basically using a warcraft version from 6 years ago. It makes no sence except for my OS. I am going to run a virtual OS with win XP tomorrow.

SOLVED!!!

I think. :) I did a complete install of WC on my machine, then I only wanted to do an update for 1.21 so I don't have to use my cd. I know that in the past, I had this patch and was still editing/playing my map.

I kept on getting an error that told me that I already had version 1.26 installed. A closer look in the registry showed me that the install folder was on a spare drive, whereas my instal was on C:\program.....

So a little registry editing and Voila, I can open maps properly in WEU, I can edit and save, and even test the map.
